Horizon Debuts PC60 and PC68 Power Catamarans at Palm Beach International Boat Show

Horizon Power Catamarans will debut two new yachts — the PC60 and PC68 — at the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show, highlighting the builder’s focus on customization and owner collaboration.

Both models feature distinctive layout configurations and will be displayed at Dock E, Slips 201 and 202, offering visitors the opportunity to explore Horizon’s latest developments in the growing power catamaran segment.

The 44th annual Palm Beach show runs March 25–29, 2026 and remains one of the premier yacht events in the United States.

PC60 Showcases New Portuguese Deck Layout

The new PC60 introduces a configuration never previously shown on the model, combining the popular Portuguese Deck flybridge layout with an Open Salon design.

The Portuguese Deck concept transforms the previously underutilized forward area into an expansive outdoor lounge and sunning space positioned just ahead of the flybridge helm. This design creates a seamless connection between the bow and flybridge while improving circulation around the yacht.

Inside, the Open Salon layout provides an open-plan living environment with a spacious galley and salon designed for entertaining and socializing.

The yacht features three staterooms and four heads, accommodating up to six guests. The full-beam master suite occupies the entire starboard hull, while a dayhead is located on the flybridge.

PC68 Highlights Repeat Owner Collaboration

The PC68 on display carries special significance for Horizon as it represents the fourth power catamaran commissioned by a returning owner.

Measuring 68 feet LOA with a 24-foot 6-inch beam, this yacht features an On-Deck Master configuration paired with the Portuguese Deck layout.

The yacht accommodates eight guests in four cabins with five heads, reflecting layout refinements shaped by long-term owner feedback and experience.

A redesigned aft deck bar area includes separate crew access to the crew cabin, improving operational flow and privacy for guests.

Performance and Silent Living Technology

Both the PC60 and PC68 are powered by twin MAN i6 850hp engines, delivering a top speed of approximately 25 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of around 20 knots.

The yachts are also equipped with Horizon’s Silent Living package, which uses an advanced Victron lithium battery system to enable up to 20 hours per day of generator-free operation.

This technology allows owners and guests to enjoy quieter onboard environments while reducing generator use during daily operation.

The PC68 also features 2,000 gallons of fuel capacity, providing a cruising range exceeding 2,000 nautical miles, making it suitable for extended cruising.

A Focus on Customization

According to Horizon Power Catamarans founder and CEO Richard Ford, the new yachts reflect the company’s collaborative design approach with owners.

“Returning to the Palm Beach International Boat Show with these two debuting yachts represents a meaningful milestone for our company,” Ford says. “These models demonstrate the level of customization our clients can achieve when collaborating with us on their build, as well as the enduring relationships we cultivate with repeat owners.”

Power Catamarans Continue to Gain Popularity

Power catamarans have gained significant traction in recent years thanks to their stability, fuel efficiency, and spacious interior layouts.

Compared with monohull yachts of similar length, powercats typically offer:

  • Greater beam and interior volume
  • Improved fuel efficiency at cruising speeds
  • Enhanced stability underway and at anchor
  • Flexible interior layouts across twin hulls

These advantages have made them increasingly attractive to both owner-operators and experienced cruisers seeking long-range capability and comfortable onboard living.

What This Means for Owners and Captains

Power catamarans like the Horizon PC60 and PC68 reflect a growing shift in the yacht market toward platforms that offer more living space, improved stability, and greater cruising efficiency than traditional monohull yachts.

For captains and experienced owners, several factors explain why powercats are gaining popularity in the 60–70 foot range:

Greater Stability at Anchor

The wide beam of a catamaran significantly reduces roll compared with a monohull. This can make overnight anchoring more comfortable for guests and crew, particularly in exposed anchorages.

Increased Interior Volume

With accommodation spread across two hulls, power catamarans often deliver more usable interior space than monohull yachts of similar length. This allows designers to incorporate larger cabins, multiple heads, and expansive salon layouts.

Efficient Cruising Performance

Modern power catamarans are designed to cruise efficiently at moderate speeds. With twin hulls reducing drag, many models can achieve long cruising ranges while maintaining comfortable cruising speeds around 18–22 knots.

Flexible Layout Customization

Because the hulls provide separate structural spaces, builders can experiment with layouts that are difficult to achieve on monohull yachts. Features like on-deck master suitesopen salon concepts, and Portuguese Deck walkaround areasare becoming more common.

For owners planning extended cruising or looking for a yacht that balances performance with onboard comfort, the power catamaran segment continues to attract increasing attention.
